I have been photographing and filming professionally for over 25 years.
I think in images. I have my feet in the earth.
You can only know what something is like when you’ve been there.
My philosophy is that I approach every subject with openness, without prejudice.
For me, photography is more, much more than a “thingy,” it is the reason for my existence on this globe, you know.
My friends, my acquaintances are in fact often formed around our shared passion for photography.
To be honest: the most beautiful, intensive, dearest encounters always revolve around looking at images. My life seems incomplete without photography. ”
Photography is a way for me to discover and organize life.
That is an ongoing process in which photography makes my stay on this globe acceptable, interesting and yes also exciting.
When I look through the slits of my eyes, use my internal camera, I am creating. Then I already make a photographic effort.
In this case without a camera. Photography is also different from painting or drawing. It is abstracting on the one hand and then becoming very concrete again.
One of my principles is that whatever you do, you must do it well.
Which does not mean that all images must be technically perfect, but the deliberate omission of technology results in interesting images,
but then you also know what you leave out, you still control the technology. I think it is important that technology should never be leading.
And yes, I am a teacher, but with the emphasis on meeting the student and connecting with his or her questions.
My fascination is always to meet new students who bring a new gift for me at the introduction.
I unpack that and look in amazement at the donor…. another new perspective on that beautiful photography profession.
I am fascinated by the phenomenon [detour]. When I take the straight line from A to B I miss the essence of the journey.
It is the same with assignments that I have in store for students. Not the goal, but the journey is interesting.
This includes the side paths and diversions. Those who dare to get lost will find new ways.
My background is in developing talents. I have many years of experience as a teacher and coach of personal development programs. Sharing (life) experience is a deeply cherished wish of me. I am happy to guide your development as an image maker, both technically and in terms of content.
I work, among others, for private individuals, publishers, governments, architects, housing associations and designers.
